The Vision

A movement of prayer and action to express God’s love for Northampton.

As part of what God is doing in Northampton, we are focussed on showing the love of God for Northampton, actively blessing and seeking the good of the town where we live.

Key Values

Relationships
We believe that God is for people, and so we focus on relationships (Relational)

Everyone & Everywhere
We believe nothing is beyond God’s love; no person, no place, no sphere, and so our vision is all-encompassing (Everything)

Creativity
We believe God is always doing new things, so we value innovation and creativity (Innovation & Creativity)

Service: We believe Jesus came to serve, and so we influence through service (Influence through Serving)

Partnership
We believe God’s mission is expansive, and so we seek partnership with others (Partnership)

Holistic Transformation
We believe God’s mission is holistic, and so we desire transformation spiritually, relationally and practically (Holistic)

3 Things We Do

Encouraging and Connecting Church Leaders

Loving Northampton is firstly a relational network of church leaders, gathering for prayer, mutual support and to encourage each other. We love to welcome other church leaders as we seek to bless Northampton together.

Partner in Prayer and Mission

We seek to coordinate together in what we are doing in prayer and in action. We want to get behind what each other are doing, and join in with each other as appropriate. We are looking for where we can gain more impact by partnering together, or with others.

Action, for us, is the good news of the gospel expressed in serving, rebuilding, working for justice, doing good to people, partnering with people of good will and using all means to share Jesus.

Catalysing Blessing the 6 Spheres of Society

We recognise that a blessed Northampton requires thriving in the 6 spheres of society: Education, Health Care, Government and Justice, Business & Economy, Social & Environment, Media & the Arts. Across the different spheres of Northampton, we want to connect people together, for encouragement and equipping, prayerfully seeking God’s blessing for a thriving Northampton.

Here’s a few things we’ve done in the past and some ideas of what we might do in the future…

Bow Down

We gathered approximately 300 Christians together on the market square to kneel and pray for 15 minutes. We prayed using Jesus’ famous prayer as our guideline, ‘Our Father, who is in heaven…’

We prayed for the town and the county, for households, businesses, schools and much more. We prayed that people would know God’s blessings of peace, righteousness, and goodness.

Welcome Bags

When new homes are built and people move in, we have delivered a tote bag that includes a welcome card, some information about local churches, charities, and other organisations as a first step to people getting to know what’s happening their local community.

Community Action Day

A weekend where churches work to clean, tidy, decorate, and garden in the local community as a way of spring cleaning and brightening up the places where we live.

Supporting and Promoting Christian Charities

We recognise there are some excellent Christian Charities working to help others and we have been involved in supporting by encouraging people to volunteer and get involved.

Ideas for
the Future

These are a few of the ways we are working together to love Northampton. We also want to support new expressions of loving Northampton, maybe Christmas Carols on the market square, or a celebration of Gospel music in the summer…

Are you a church leader?

If you lead a church and would like to get involved, we'd love to hear from you.
